Equitrac Office
(a.k.a. PrintLog Accounting Server -- PAS) offers a complete solution to
track costs and manage hardcopy expenses
associated with printing and copying. The advanced architecture allows
you to configure, monitor and manage document accounting across several
remote sites using a single server. PAS leverages the advanced
PageControl Stations, which restrict users from any walk-up activity
until a valid billing code is entered. Once the codes are validated,
users may proceed with their transactions, which are then tracked with
the appropriate billing information. The performance achieved by the
PageControl Stations, along with the high-performance ODBC-compliant
database (Microsoft JET or SQL Server), allow PrintLog Accounting Server
to manage a large number of printers on each server. Equitrac Office
provides robust reporting tools so organizations can analyze the
document production activity of their users, determine which devices are
over or under utilized or recognize peak usage periods. PAS can help you
control who is printing, how much they print and which printers they
use. Further, with the addition of the Client Billing module(s), it can
be used to track and charge back for office equipment usage by account.
Integrating with major Time and Billing packages, PAS also allows for
terminal configuration, data back-ups and even validation to be handled
for all sites from a single location. PAS can account for separate color
and black & white printing and copying as well as different paper sizes.

Client Billing
When a document is printed or copied, the user must enter an account
code for tracking purposes, enabling bill back to the customer.
Desktop Printing
Locally attached desktop printers are often an enormous unmanaged,
untracked cost. The desktop printing option enables Equitrac Office to
gather the data associated with these prints so you may manage these
costs.
Secure Printing
Print jobs are held at the print server and allows the user to release
the document when they arrive at the device, protecting against
unauthorized users reading or removing confidential documents. Also, if
the device is busy, the user can "pull" the document to a similar device
nearby and receive it without having to wait.
Today's digital office products
(copiers, printers etc.) use memory and storage just like a

Sharpdesk software provides the user a
personal, desktop-based, document management system. Sharpdesk lets user
browse, edit, search, compose, and forward both scanned and native
electronic documents. It allows creation and distribution of complete
proposals, reports and more with the ease of drag
and drop operation. You can simply drag and drop your files onto
Sharpdesk's Work Area, and you'll be able to browse through them within
a single window, with easy to recognize thumbnail images. Over 200 types
of files (such as Excel, Word, Word, TIFF, JPEG and BMP) are supported.
Sharpdesk's powerful search function lets you quickly find the documents
you need by full text search. The full
text search utility yields results with unique thumbnail view and
summary for faster recognition of the correct file. With
Sharpdesk Composer you can
combine different types of files into a
single document through simple drag-and-drop operation. An annotation
function in Sharpdesk Imaging provides a
range of useful editing tools, including text, labels and stamps,
allowing network users to check and proofread documents without
overwriting the original files-and without having to print a hard copy.
Sharpdesk is included with the Network Scanning Expansion kits for Sharp
digital Imagers and FO-DC series devices, which enables you to turn your
digital printer/copier into a network scanner, allowing you to scan
paper documents, forward them or even convert them into editable digital
files.

Doc2NET Document
Management Software - Electronic Filing Solution
Liberty Doc2NET is a simple-to-use, yet
powerful electronic document filing software. It can
free your office from the costs and
inefficiencies of paper filing by providing secure access to
all types of critical business information. Doc2NET provides
one-touch filing from Sharp's Imager and FO-DC series MFPs.
This tight Integration enables you to scan documents directly into a
Doc2NET cabinet (up to 10 cabinets) in either TIFF or PDF formats.
Scanned documents (TIFF) can be automatically OCR'd, making those
documents fully text searchable. What's more, documents can be
archived with up to six index fields (or meta-data), for easier
retrieval. Each of the 10 cabinets can have its own set of unique
index fields, enabling you customize your electronic archive. No
more wasted time retrieving old files. Once retrieved, documents can
be viewed, emailed, printed and faxed, greatly streamlining your
document communication process. Doc2NET has a password-protected
login, and the system administrator has the ability to assign users
access rights to only selected cabinets, thereby restricting access
to your documents.
Reform
is a software program that will create and enhance all your business
forms, regardless of operating systems (i.e.: Windows, Unix, AS400, DOS
etc.). Reform utilizes Pre-printed Form techniques to replace and
enhance Multi Part Forms. Reform will electronically distribute and
print your forms to all printers and digital copiers quickly and
automatically -- all over the world. Use Reform to capture print data
streams from mainframe systems or databases and convert ordinary looking
forms/reports to graphically enriched ones.
Reform includes a designer tool that
allows you to enhance your own forms with graphics, bar codes, line
objects, colors, fonts etc. Once Reform has received the initial print
stream from any operating system, inbound capture utility or line of
business application etc., Reform can then enhance the print stream and
send the information to Printers, Fax Systems, Email Systems and/or
Archive Systems. Reform can use any Windows printer driver and leverage
all of the devices features and functions. This means that Reform can
control advanced features such as duplexing, bin and tray control,
collating, media type, paper size, colors, location etc. Reform
Enterprise has a built-in distribution function so that one print job
can be distributed to multiple printers utilizing each printer's
features and functions. Additionally, Reform's document management
system allows you to electronically route documents not only for
printing, but also faxing, emailing and/or archiving, thereby
streamlining your workflow in one simple step.
Sharp's family of Digital Imager™
Printers and Copiers use Network Interface Cards (NIC) to
connect to your office network. Setup and configuration is
greatly simplified through the use of intuitive web pages.
These can be accessed remotely by your network administrator.
Although highly convenient for the administrator, this easy
access may raise the possibility that unauthorized users, or
even hackers, might be able to:
(1) access the device
(2) retrieve data from it or
(3) alter settings.
In fact even if data cannot be retrieved, viewing the
configuration settings alone often gives sufficient network
information for a hacker to be able to mount a serious "denial
of service" attack on the main network servers.
Sharp's Secure Network Interface Card
essentially protects the device with its own firewall, so that
only authorized users are granted access to configuration
details and network settings. When coupled with password
protection, this means the administrator still has the
convenience of remote setup and still minimize the risk of
outside attack. Further, it can limit print access to
identified users or specific print servers. Access can be
controlled at 3 levels:
(1) IP address filtering: limits access to a select IP
addresses
(2) MAC address filtering: limits access to specific PC's
regardless of IP address
(3) Protocol Disabling: specific communication protocols are
disabled (such as Telnet, RARP & JCP)

and departments; Callisto gives network administrators unparalleled
control over their network printer utilization, regardless of
manufacturer. Callisto software is compatible with multiple operating
systems and applications, and supports virtually any number of users and
output devices.
Copy Splitting allows you to
split large print jobs across multiple devices in one of two
ways. When jobs are split evenly, an equal number of sets are
printed on each device. With
Smart-Load-Balance copy splitting, the sets are split
over each device in proportion to engine speed.
Pool Print (Auto Direction)
routes jobs that exceed the maximum page count, copy count or
total page count. Callisto monitors print queues, and
redirects a job when the printer is busy, ensuring that your
print job prints on the first available device. Callisto also
notifies you when your job is redirected, so you know where to
pick it up. Equal Engine Utilization
sends jobs in sequence to printers in the cluster. This
assures equal usage across all devices.
Broadcast Print sends complete and identical jobs to
all output devices in the cluster. This option is useful if a
job needs to be printed in several locations, such as
satellite offices. The Monitored Queues
tab provides Administrators with complete management of print
queues and jobs. Prioritized jobs in a queue, pause, resume,
delete, copy and/or move jobs between printers and more.

added efficiency, EZ Cluster automatically verifies printer status and
availability before sending a job. It can determine if the necessary
finishing options are installed on selected printers and provide the
option to redistribute jobs as necessary-thereby minimizing printing
conflicts and saving valuable time.
Sharp offers a suite of administration tools that greatly
simplify the installation, monitoring and use of its multifunction
digital copiers.
Sharp Printer Status Monitor was designed
to monitor network devices on a daily basis, so that a user can be more
productive. This permits the print user to decide whether the printer is
available and has enough paper for their output. In addition, Sharp
Monitor will notify the user of job completion, so that a user only
needs to go to the printer once, when the output is complete.
Printer Administration Utility (PAU) is a
network tool designed to speed up the installation and configuration of
all connected Sharp devices. Primarily for IT Managers, it allows you to
manage all Sharp and non-Sharp SNMP compliant printers over the network
right from your desktop. IT Managers can customize machine information
as well as view device status with optional pop-up alert messages.
Detailed product information can be viewed as well, including total
impressions and toner status. And of course, network settings can be
viewed and edited as needed. In addition to all this, PAU can be easily
customized. You can create lists of printers that share specific
characteristics and display them by model name, IP address, status,
location and more. By utilizing PAU, network administrators can manage
all Sharp Digital Printers and Copiers remotely from a single console.
Sharp's suite of administration
tools greatly simplifies the installation, monitoring and use of its
multifunction digital copiers.
Imager Home Page, accessible through a web
browser, enables the user or administrator to manage key device
functions, such as Scanning, Faxing, R.E.D, as well as device status and
network configuration verification. Admin functions are password
protected.
Remote Email Diagnostic (R.E.D.) enables
key operators, network administrator as well as the Sharp Authorized
Resellers to automatically receive specific device notifications,
thereby greatly streamlining device monitoring and reducing many of the
hidden costs associated with device maintenance, including automated
click count collection. The emails can be scheduled (e.g. click count)
as well as event driven (e.g. out of toner). And with
Sharp Device Manager, the authorized Sharp
Service Provider is able to automatically import R.E.D. total meter
reads into their ERP system, such as OMD. This streamlines the meter
read collection process as well as practically eliminating any
discrepancies caused by inadvertent data collection or entry errors.
